How does Peer to peer work?
On moneyline, spreads, and total markets, there are always two sides of the bet. On one side, there are those who think an outcome will happen and on the other, those who think it won't.
Prophet Exchange allows you to act as both sides of the bet. Betting against others removes the need for the margin that fixed-odds bookmakers incorporate into their prices (the vig), meaning prices are better on the exchange.

How it works: Placing a bet
For example, on our NBA moneyline market, similar to a sportsbook, you are presented with a market with the option to bet on either team to win.
You can take either price available in the green or blue boxes (the available amount or ‘liquidity’ is shown on the gray text below). Both amounts and prices will constantly change according to what is available in the market based (its liquidity).
Getting your bet Matched
If there is $50 available on the price you would like to bet on and you make a $50 bet, your bet will be fully matched. However, were you to increase your stake, to bet $100, your $50 will be matched but the remaining $50 will unmatched until a user accepts the other side of the bet.
This means overall your bet is partially matched with a $50 unmatched bet, and a $50 matched bet. You can cancel an unmatched bet at any time before it is matched.
Requesting a bet
With an exchange you also have the option to request a bigger price than what is shown.
By clicking on the available odds and changing the price, you then will be putting up your own liquidity (your bet is available for someone else to bet on and is updated in the gray text).
Requested bets will remain unmatched until another user takes some or all of the liquidity (the bet will then become fully matched or partially matched).
Trading your bet
Another benefit of using an exchange, is the ability to trade in and out of bets when markets fluctuate. Exchanges give you the option to bet the other side, letting you to reduce your risk (or eliminate it entirely) at any moment. By using this strategy, you can create scenarios in which you win money regardless of the outcome.

For prematch wagers, if all or part of an offer is still unmatched when the associated event starts, Prophet Exchange will automatically refund any remaining stakes to users' wallets. For live wagers, unmatched stakes will be returned at the conclusion of the event. Users also have the option to manually cancel their unmatched wagers at any time.
